History of Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery

Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery is proud of its third generation family heritage consistently serving the burial needs of Madison and surrounding counties. Established in 1929 and purchased by Clyde Whittaker in the 1940’s Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery is now under the direction of his daughter, Diane Wiley. Her children Carolyn Louden and Jay Wiley are working along with the qualified staff at Anderson Memorial Park as the next generation to serve the community.

Anderson Memorial Park was founded on the principle of removing all impractical features of the old style cemetery and instead substitutes the simple dignity which only nature can provide. As one views the grounds no vista is obscured as the beautiful bronze memorial markers are set level with the ground. This difference lends the park-like atmosphere that Anderson Memorial Park alone can offer in and around Madison County.

Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery also utilized endowment funds for the future care and preservation of the grounds long before it was required of cemeteries to do so. Believing it is the responsibility of a cemetery to ensure that future generations may honor their ancestors in a tranquil and beautiful environment Anderson Memorial Park has had the long term provision set aside.

With burial space and development to meet the needs of Madison and surrounding counties for the next 100 years, Anderson Memorial Park looks forward to being good stewards of service to our community for many years to come.
