History of Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery

Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Needs is proud of its fourth-generation family heritage having consistently served the burial needs of Madison and surrounding counties. Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery was established in 1929 and purchased by Clyde Whittaker in the 1940's. His daughter, Diane Wiley, directed the cemetery from the 1980's until passing the responsibility to her son, Jay Wiley.

Jay and his family are working along with the qualified staff at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Needs as the next generation to serve the community.

Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery was founded on the principle of removing all impractical features of the old style cemetery and instead substitutes the simple dignity which only nature can provide. As one views the grounds no vista is obscured as the beautiful bronze memorial markers are set level with the ground. This difference lends the park-like atmosphere that Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Needs alone can offer in and around Madison County.

Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Needs also utilized endowment funds for the future care and preservation of the grounds long before it was required of cemeteries to do so. Believing it is the responsibility of a cemetery to ensure that future generations may honor their ancestors in a tranquil and beautiful environment Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery has had the long term provision set aside.

With burial space and development to meet the needs of Madison and surrounding counties for the next 100 years, Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Needs looks forward to being good stewards of service to our community for many years to come.
