Ann Lucille Davis

Ann Lucille Davis, 82, of Anderson, IN, passed away on Sunday evening January 1, 2023 at Bethany Pointe Health Memory Care after an extended illness.

Ann was born at home in Bridgeport, IL on January 17, 1940, to Floyd and Eleanor (nee: Reel) Sprinkle. Ann often reminisced about her travels with her parents, with trips to many of the landmarks all around the country. She also spent many years researching and documenting genealogy on various branches of her family tree.

A 1958 graduate of Bridgeport High School, Ann attended Vincennes University, graduating in 1960 with an Associate in Science degree in Medical Technology. After graduation Ann worked at Good Samaritan Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Vincennes until the birth of her son. Ann returned to working as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Anderson in the 1980’s after raising her three children.

Ann married Patrick Davis on June 25, 1961, at First Christian Church in Bridgeport, IL. Pat and Ann moved to Anderson in 1963 when Pat accepted a job managing the Montgomery Ward Auto Service Center in preparation for the Store’s April 1965 relocation to the Anderson Mounds Mall.

Ann was a loving mother who always put her family first. She was steadfast and faithful in her provisions and loving care for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a musician playing clarinet in high school band and piano for her church. Ann was an active AHS band parent using her sewing skills repairing many uniforms and chaperoning while her daughters were in band. She continued her love of music being an avid fan of Drum Corps and attending many competitions. She also loved Broadway Musicals.
Ann was an accomplished quilter and created countless quilts for friends and family. She was a member of the Red Bud Quilt Guild for many years.

Preceding Ann in death were her parents and husband. Surviving is her sister-in-law, Diane Davis, of Carlsbad, CA, son, Michael Davis (Rachel Anne Day), of West Lafayette, and daughters, Marcia Gravely and Malinda Davis, of Anderson, grandchildren, Mycah Mantock (Elliott), of Burien, WA, Joshua Smith (Rachel), of Seattle, WA, Matthew Smith (fiancee’ Lindsey Kyle), of Lafayette, Ashley Gravely of San Diego, CA, Aaron Gravely (Shelby), of West Lafayette, Katherine Wright (Ryan), of New Castle, Sarah Ashcraft and Megan Ashcraft, of Anderson, and one great-granddaughter, Winry Gravely, of West Lafayette.

Per Ann’s request there will be no formal services. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory. Inurnment will be at Anderson Memorial Park.
