Barbara J. Cox

Barbara graduated from Anderson High School in 1948 and was known by her classmate's as 'Pug'. She also graduated from General Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. She became a nurse at General, a public health nurse in Indianapolis, a nurse at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie and ended her career working as a nurse for an OBGYN doctor.

She was a member of Anderson First United Methodist Church and a retired member of Delta Theta Tau and Homemakers both of Muncie. She loved reading, sewing of all kinds, camping, family get-together's and traveling.

Barbara is survived by her children, Nancy (Peter) Bergmann of Carmel and John Kent (Kathy) Leasure III of Indianapolis; sister, Sandra French of Anderson; granddaughters, Amiee (Patrick) McGrath of Pittsboro, Connie (Brian) Killigrew of Indianapolis, and Jessica Leasure of Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren, Samantha McEvoy, Joshua McGrath, Sean McGrath, James (Jr) Lawrence, Kyle Killigrew, Luke Killigrew, Erin Killigrew, and Owen Killigrew. Also, surviving are her step-children, Vicky Hobbs of Greenfield, Charles Cox Jr. of Anderson, and Jeffrey (Linda) Cox of Anderson; step-grandchildren, Kami Hobbs and Jaydha (DJ) Haywood, and her dog, Missy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Thomas Lovell.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN.

Services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Don Deena Johnson officiating.

Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
