Betty J. Montgomery, 96, Marion, passed away at 7:30 am on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Miller's Merry Manor. She was born in Alexandria, Indiana, on Tuesday, January 7, 1930, to Herbert and Idabel (Moystner) Webster. On December 26, 1948, she married Richard W. Montgomery and he preceded her in death.
Betty worked at the Indiana Wesleyan headquarters and later devoted many years of her life to being a loving homemaker. She took great joy in caring for her family, especially spending time babysitting her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren. Betty had a passion for cooking, baking, and sewing, talents she lovingly shared with those around her. Her faith was central to her life, and she was deeply active in her church, where she spent much of her time and found great fulfillment. She enjoyed listening to Christian gospel music and was especially fond of the Hollingsworth Band. In her quiet moments, Betty loved watching World War II films and Hallmark movies. Above all, she cherished time with her family and the community she held close to her heart.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie (William) Hupp of Van Buren, Mary A. Jungers of Mountain Home, AR, Terry Montgomery of Marion; granddaughters, Jennifer (Jason) Hupp, Carie (James) Stephenson, and Kelly Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Amaigha Montgomery, Braydon Montgomery, Avynn Montgomery, Anthony Reed, William Hupp, and Alyviah Reed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Idabel Webster; husband, Richard W. Montgomery; twin sister, Betty L Catt, and great-granddaughter, PVT Alyxandra Montgomery.
