Brenda G. Mcilrath

Brenda G. (Brown) McIlrath passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 22, 2023, at the age of 76, after a long heart-breaking period of physical and mental decline brought on by dementia.

Born March 16, 1947, the daughter of Rudolph and Audrell Brown. Brenda was a well-known member of the Middletown, Indiana community where she served as clerk-treasurer for many years. Brenda retired from Key Bank of Anderson and moved to Florida for retirement. Brenda loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Our family would like to thank the entire staff at the Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Heart to Heart Hospice and Pastor Phil Rogers for the loving care and compassion they gave Brenda from the start to the end of this journey. We can never thank you enough!

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Brown, In-laws, Fred and Hazel McIlrath, son-in-law, Danny Ebbert, one brother, Marcus Brown; three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James "Butch" McIlrath; her mother, Audrell Brown; son, Fred (Tracy) McIlrath; her daughter, Tamara Ebbert; her grandchildren, Conor (Lauren) McIlrath, Cameron (Brooklynn) McIlrath; great-grandson, Turner McIlrath; a sister, Barbara (Jim) Clay; sister-in-law, Leann Kellams; sister-in-law, Terry Brown; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, October, 26, 2023, at Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, with memorial services at 7 pm. Pastor Phil Rogers will officiate. We invite you to make a donation to the Middletown Emergency Services or Dementia Society of America in her honor, in place of sending flowers.
