Carolyn Sue Bailey, 85, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2025. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 39 years, Charles Bailey. Born to William and Bessie (Byrd) Carr on October 24, 1940.
Carolyn dedicated her life to nursing, serving as Director of Nurses at Visiting Nurse Healthcare. She earned numerous awards for her excellence and dedication throughout her career. She also spent several years as a school nurse, continuing her commitment to caring for others.
A graduate of Indiana University and president of her class, Carolyn was known for her leadership, drive, and integrity. She was a proud Master Gardener and a former Job’s Daughter, admired for her kindness and love of her community.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Loralyn L Bailey; grandson, Griffin Toombs; granddaughter, Bailey D. Toombs; daughter, Susanne (Thomas) Lucey; grandson, Jonah (Katie) Lucey; grandson, Charles Lucey; granddaughter, Tyler Lucey; daughter, Linda (David Woschitz) Almquist; granddaughter, Karleigh (Philip) Caito; great-grandson, Philip Sebastian Caito; granddaughter, Wynnie Almquist; grandson, Eric (Jacky) Woschitz; granddaughter, Marissa Woschitz; great-granddaughter, Skylar Woschitz; niece, Karin (John Sayer) Surber; niece, Kelly (Ken) Gangl; nephew, David (Marisa) Carr; nephew, Glen (Tammy) Bailey; special friends, Don and Judy Sanford, the girls, and Carrie Sherrill (deceased).
She was preceded in passing by parents, William Sr. and Bessie Carr; step-mother, Hazel Carr; brother, William E. Carr, Jr.; brother-in-law, Rex Bailey; brother-in-law, Joseph Bailey.
Carolyn and her quick wit and sharp sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W 53rd Street, Anderson Indiana 46013.
The funeral will begin at 11:30 AM at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory with Glen Bailey officiating.
Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park.
