Carolyn Dianne Johnson-Mootry

Carolyn Dianne Johnson-Mootry passed away on March 18, 2025.

Carolyn was born on Oct. 13, 1950, in Birmingham, AL. and raised in Anderson, IN. She received a Bachelor of Education from IU (Bloomington) as well as a Master of Education from Ball State University.

Carolyn was a retired Educator within the Anderson Community School Corporation, member at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Carolyn is survived by her brothers Kenneth (Joyce) Johnson, Jeffrey (Janet Jackson) Johnson, Bruce (Daphne) Johnson and a host of family and friends. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Primus J. Mootry Jr.; parents Audye Mae Pitts-Johnson, Major Johnson, and brother Bennie Johnson.

Funeral service will be noon Friday at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St., with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
