Charles H. Lacey

Charles H. Lacey, 96, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025.

Born on November 6, 1928 in Anderson to Charles and Sarah (Huckaby) Lacey, he was a lifelong resident and dedicated community leader. Charles worked as an electrical engineer at Delco-Remy, where he also taught math in the Apprentice Program, retiring in 1987.

He served as president of Fairview Little League and Anderson Babe Ruth League, and proudly led the 1965 Babe Ruth World Series hosted in Anderson. He also served on the boards of the Anderson Public Library and the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Known for his ability to fix anything and his soft spot for his two cats, Charles will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and lasting contributions to his community.

Charles is survived by son, Michael (Priscilla) Lacey; daughter, Deborah (Mike) Wheat; son, Tom (Marilyn) Lacey of Brownsburg, IN; daughter, Jennifer (Jim) Hunter; sisters-in-law, Lois Hite and Helen Fricke; 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 11 great, great grandchildren.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers and friends at Bethany Pointe Nursing Home, especially Michael and Danny, for their kindness and compassion.

Charles was preceded in death by wife, Treva Lee Lacey; parents, Charles and Sarah Lacey; sister, Peggy Mier; sister, Shirley Chambers; brother-in-law, Bob Mier; brother-in-law, Jim Mosley; brother-in-law, Larry Fricke; sister-in-law, Wilma Mosley; brother-in-law, Jack Hite.

Visitation will be held at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W 53rd St, Anderson IN 46013, on June 20, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. The funeral service will be private. The graveside service will be held at Anderson Memorial Park.
