Christopher “Mitch” Pavey
December 1, 1962- January 3, 2026

Christopher "Mitch" Pavey age 63. Passed away due to complications of Alzheimer's disease associated with Down syndrome on January 3, 2026.

He was the much loved son of Carl and Betty Pavey; brother of Carol Pavey (Peter Miles); uncle of Rowan (Cassandra), Cadyn (Sanja), and Todd (Emily) Miles; roommate of Sheila and Hunter.

Mitch was a lifelong resident of Anderson and recognized for his outgoing personality and red hair.

Mitch was born at a time of change for people with disabilities and lived a fulfilling and busy life. With the support of his and many other parents, he attended Central Avenue and Park Manor schools and Hopewell Center. He was a well-known busboy for many years at Steak 'n Shake. Mitch was active in numerous sports and Special Olympics for 50+ years, and was proud of his many medals and trophies. He attended Central Christian and East Side Church of God churches. Mitch's favorite things were cheering on his Indy Colts, bowling, attending church and camps, watching golf, and spending family week in Port Elgin, Ontario.

Mitch was fortunate to have an army of dedicated and loving caregivers from Legacy Home Care. He was supported by IPMG case management and benefited from many community and professional connections. Mitch received gentle end of life care from Community Hospice Service. His family are forever indebted to and deeply grateful for each of these people; it was their love, hard work, compassion, and commitment that allowed Mitch to remain in his family home until his passing.

Funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Mary Ann Randolph officiating. The burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Special Olympics.
