Clarice Anita Sholty, 95, of Anderson, passed away peacefully March 25, 2025, at White Oaks Memory Care, Noblesville. She was born September 12,1929, in Anderson, Indiana.
A 1947 graduate of Markleville High School, Clarice dedicated her life to caring for others with love and selflessness. She noticed and appreciated the simple things in life…sunsets, campfires, and time spent with loved ones.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and kindness. She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Ovid, serving as a board member and cemetery caretaker, and she lived her faith through compassion and generosity.
Clarice is survived by sons: Jeff Sholty, Anderson; and Doug (Toni) Sholty, Brownsburg; grandchildren: Andy Sholty, Nevada; Audrey (Mike) Kennedy, Montana; Taylor (Rachel) Cavanagh, Colorado; and Laura (Daniel) Heinekamp, Brownsburg; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Sholty, parents, Fred A. and Mary Carey, and brothers, Don Carey and Clifford Carey.
Visitation will be Friday, April 4 from 3–5 PM at Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson. A service will follow at 5 PM, with a reception from 6-8 pm. Burial will take place Saturday at 11 AM at Anderson Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
