Dale Lechlitner, 87, of Pendleton, moved to his Heavenly home on September 9, 2023, after a brief illness.

He began his earthly life on March 3, 1936, in Wakarusa, Indiana. He came to Anderson at an early age and attended Anderson High School and went on to Ball State University where he met his loving wife and earned his teaching degree.

Dale was a teacher at Madison Heights High School for 35 years, teaching Industrial Arts and Math. He also coached gymnastics and tennis there. Dale has resided in Pendleton for the last 50 years.

Dale was blessed with gifted hands when it came to woodworking and was motivated by a servant's heart involved in missions. He loved to stay active playing ping pong, golf, and pickleball with his buddies. He also loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Lechlitner; his children, Erik (Pam) Lechlitner, Rita (Brian) Rider, and Joni (Ross) Goyer; his grandchildren, Bailey (Nate) Brown, Justin (Ginny) Lechlitner, Ryan (Megan) Lechlitner, Kira Rider, Braden (Sarah) Lechlitner, Cassie Goyer, Darby Goyer, Ashley Goyer, and Shelby Goyer; his great-grandchildren, Nora, Roland, Mabel, Marley, Oakley, Emma, Daniel, Odin and Nathan; his brother-in-law, James Cunningham and sister-in-law, Linda Hendricks and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at South Meridian Church of God followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm.

Donations can be made in his honor to the Faith Promise at South Meridian Church of God or Children of Promise.
