Daniel R. Dunbar

Daniel R Dunbar, 91, of Anderson, passed away on November 2, 2023, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born on July 29, 1932, to the late Leslie and Mildred (Bedwell) Dunbar in Sullivan County IN, He graduated from Anderson High School in 1950. Daniel worked at and retired from General Motors after 38 years. He was a member of the Anderson First Friends Church for 50 years, before joining his current church United Wesleyan Church. The family was his life, spending time and traveling with Mary to their grandchildren's events. He and Mary spent winters in Florida, where he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family while they vacationed there.
Surviving are his wife Mary(Ireland) Dunbar, daughter Nika Prather (Mike), son Greg Dunbar (Kim), and Kim Girt (Dan)—9 grandchildren and their spouses, and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents and sisters Barbara Higginbotham, and Anna Brandon.
Visitation will be held at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, IN. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. and 10:30-11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8 at church.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11 a.m., at United Wesleyan Church 2233 S. Central Way Anderson, IN 46011. Memorial contributions can be made to the United Wesleyan Church.
Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
