Donita Jo Day, 66, of Anderson departed this life on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born on May 14, 1958, to Donald and Demaris Eskew and graduated from Anderson High School in 1976 where she was a proud Indianette.
Donita went to school to become a Registered Nurse and retired after 30 years of nursing at Community North and the Indiana Surgery Center. She resided in Markleville, Indiana for most of her life where she raised her family, loved playing with her pups, Lucky, Sox, and Billie Goat, to name a few. She loved sitting around the campfire with her grandchildren, playing cards with family and friends, visiting the beach, and loved being at any softball or basketball game she could make it to. She never met a walking taco or a McDonald's Coke she didn't enjoy! Donita loved cheering on her kids and grandkids and her smile is already missed in those bleachers.
Donita was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Demaris Eskew and her brother, Chuck Eskew. She is survived by her two daughters, Dawn Hines, of Parker City, IN and Katie Killian, of Pendleton, IN; her two step-sons, Kristofer (Jennifer) Day, of New Castle, IN and Joshua (Melissa) Day, of Pendleton, IN; granddaughters, Aubrey Hines, Kylie Day, and Kelsey Day; grandsons: Denver Killian, Branson Killian, Kaleb Day, Kody Day, Koltin Day, and Benjamin Cunningham; and sister-in-law, Debbie Rich, of Anderson, IN.
Memorial services will be held at Loose Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. with Celebrant Craig Malone officiating. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
