Elijah "Fish" Hollingsworth

Elijah “Fish” Hollingsworth, 78, passed away Sept. 7, 2026.
Fish was born July 21, 1948 to Russell Hollingsworth and Otha Poole in DeKalb, MS. He was a Gm retiree. Elijah enjoyed fishing, dressing sharp and spending time with family and friends.
Fish is survived by his wife Bertha Hollingsworth; daughter Tamica (Brandon Mustafah Brunson) Hollingsworth; son Dank Hollingsworth; step daughter Gawana Meriwether; step son Joe (Krista) Meriwether Jr.; sisters Joann Hollins, Glenda Jones; brothers Felix Poole, Petey Poole; granddaughter Tamea Hollingsworth; great granddaughter Tamiya Hollingsworth and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be noon Monday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1540 W. 16th St., with visitation 2 hours prior to service. Burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
