Eva "Ruth" (Irwin) Huntzinger, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 14, 2023, at the age of 95.
Ruth was born in Cudahy, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joel William Irwin and Mildred (Clover) Irwin. She was a devoted wife and mother. She married Rolland O. Huntzinger in 1946, and they celebrated 54 years of marriage. They had two children, Aida Jo Huntzinger and Gary Lee Huntzinger.
Ruth lived in Central Indiana most of her life. She worked in food services and retail, and became a small business owner and teacher in a ceramic shop. She was a skilled artist, seamstress, and bowler. She was recognized by The Women's Bowling Hall of Fame for her high averages.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Mildred Irwin; sister, Lillian Garner; husband, Rolland Huntzinger; son, Gary Huntzinger; and son-in-law, John Smalley.
She is survived by her daughter, Aida (Huntzinger) Smalley; daughter-in-law, Helen (Cravens) Huntzinger; grandchildren, Cathy (Anthony) Baker, Bill Bousman, David Minnick, Jeffery Smalley, Barry (Cynthia) Huntzinger, and Ryan (Debbie) Huntzinger; several great and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, IN, with memorial service at 11:00 am. Pastor Phillip Rogers will officiate. Final resting place will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson, IN.
