Ferne C. Closser

Ferne (Craft) Closser, 93, daughter of Joseph K. and Mae (Mitchell) Craft, passed away on March 18, 2025. She was born on May 8, 1931 in Greene County, Tennessee. She came to Anderson from Greeneville, Tennessee in 1952.

She retired from the Madison County Auditor's Office in 1998 after 24 1/2 years, (November 1973 - July 1998.)

She was a member of New Horizons United Methodist Church, where she served as the Trustee and was apart of various committees and Scattergood Class. Ferne was also a member of Madison County Women's Democratic Club, and retiree of UAW Local 1963, where she served as its first Financial Secretary.

Survivors include daughter, Debra McCord of Anderson; daughter, Pamela Closser of Anderson; one granddaughter, Lindsey Lines of Anderson; one grandson, Jordan McCord (Staci Wilt) of Indianapolis; and one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Lines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Art" B. Closser; her parents, Joseph K. and Mae (Mitchell) Craft; three brothers, and one sister.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 24, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, IN.

Services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dale Mendenhall.

Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
