Frederick William “Fred” Peterson, 84, of Yorktown passed away on April 14, 2026 at Morrison Woods in Muncie following a brief illness.

He was born on May 8, 1941 in Anderson to Frederick William and Lottie (Westminster) Peterson. He graduated from Anderson High School and went on to serve in the US Army.

He was a machine repair/ tool & die maker at Delco Remy and retired with over 30 years.
He attended Temple Baptist Church in Muncie. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a member of National Muzzle Loading Riffle Association and Fall Creek Valley Conservation Club.

He is survived by his two children, Mike (Yasenka) Peterson of Terre Haute and Rennea Hutton of Yorktown; three grandchildren, Jenny Hoover of Maine, Alexa Peterson and Tyler Peterson both of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Penelope Ann “Penny” Peterson; and six siblings.

A memorial service will be at 1:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Benjamin Lang officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home. A private burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.
