Harold Dean “Tuffy” Dunsmore, 83, Muncie, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday afternoon, May 9, 2024, surrounded by his family at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born Thursday, March 13, 1941, in Muncie, the son of Harold Franklin and Mildred Marie (Miller) Dunsmore. Harold enjoyed spending time with his family and the family “get togethers”. He loved playing games with family, especially Skip-Bo everyday with his wife, Evelyn. Tuffy enjoyed his breakfasts with his “coffee buddies”. Some of his favorite pastimes were riding his motorcycle, hunting, camping, fishing, watching Western movies and old TV shows like Gunsmoke. He read his Bible daily, attended the Fellowship Baptist Church and was one of the founders of the Bible Baptist Church in Parker City. Tuffy worked at GM for thirty-six years and retired in 2004. Mr. Dunsmore proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Kinman) Dunsmore; children, Jerry Dean (spouse, Dwayne Grisham) Dunsmore, Shari Jean Davis, Joey D. (wife, Robin) Dunsmore, Annitta JoAnne (husband, Mark) Jackson, and Jason Andrew (wife, Amy) Dunsmore; step-children, Kirby (wife, Tricia) Patrick, Lashell (husband, Eric) Webber, Kendra Patrick, and Alan (wife, Vhem) Patrick; siblings including his twin brother, Gerald Gene “Softy” (wife, Jackie) Dunsmore, Nancy Finney, Thomas Dunsmore, Cindy Cabralas, and David Dunsmore; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Franklin and Mildred Marie Dunsmore; and three siblings, Rodger Dunsmore, Linda Dunsmore, and Butch Dunsmore.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with his son, Joseph D. Dunsmore and Pastor Ben Lang officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Memorial Park in Anderson with Military Rites conducted by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
