Listen to Obituary

Helen Marshall, 87, of Anderson, passed away at her home on October 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children as she went to heaven peacefully.

Helen retired from Payless Supermarkets after 38 years of employment. For the majority of those years, she was the executive secretary for Larry Contos, Dr. Glen Falls, and Paul Nicholson. After her retirement, she kept busy with her bookkeeping job for Steve Imel. At the age of 79, she fully retired so she could enjoy her winters in Florida.

Helen liked staying busy. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, eating good food, taking long walks on the beach, and especially spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her three children, Cheryl (Chris) Cheetham, Scott Petty, and Rhonda (Jim) Noland; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are her two sisters, Barbara (Dave) Singer and Peggy (Jack) Eldridge, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Marshall; and three brothers, Harold Phillips, James Phillips, and Rick Truman.

Helen will be truly missed by all.
