Israel Villarreal-Mendoza, 73, of Anderson passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2025. He was born in Arcelia, Guerrero in Mexico to the late Manuel Villarreal and Maria Jesus-Mendoza. Israel worked as a landscaper for a number of years before his retirement. He found his spiritual home at Iglesia del Refugio de Dios and was a faithful member for many years. He was known as a prankster and loved to play jokes on people.

Israel will be dearly missed by his children, Maria Jesus-Villarreal, Israel Villarreal-Rodriguez, Manuel Villarreal-Rodriguez, Luis Alberto Villarreal-Rodriguez, Daisy Perez, and Julian Villarreal-Rodriguez; 24 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 8 brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Hortencia Rodriguez-Mejia.

The visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Friday, January 17th, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013. The funeral ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. The burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Israel’s services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes.
