James E. Freeman, Jr. 81, of Noblesville, passed away on September 17, 2025. He was
born on March 5, 1944, in Anderson, Indiana, the son of James Freeman, Sr. and Helen
Tracy.
Jim graduated from Madison Heights High School, the Virginia Military Institute, and the
Indiana University School of Law.
He also served his country in the United States Air Force.
He was an attorney and senior partner with Sansberry, Dickmann, Freeman, and Builta
in Anderson, IN, and served as co-owner, president, and director for Rowland Title Co,
Inc.
He was dedicated to his community, serving on boards with numerous organizations
including as the past president and board of directors of the Anderson City Police Merit
Commission, Anderson Rotary Club, Wilson Boys & Girls Club, and Anderson Stony
Creek, Union Township Public Library, facilitating the construction of Anderson’s current
library, Anderson YMCA, Fine Arts Center, and First of America Bank. For his collected
efforts and leadership, he was awarded city, county, and state-wide recognitions
including the Sagamore of the Wabash.
Jim was an avid reader of Civil War and religious history, and skeet shooter with
instructor certification.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Lively) Freeman; sons, Lee (Rose) Freeman of
Falls Church, VA, and Mark (Lucia) Freeman of Washington, DC, step-son, Ryan
(Natalie) Fite and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Eli Freeman, Sr and Helen Tracy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Loose
Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, IN.
Services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Earnst
officiating.
Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's
Foundation.
