James Philip "Phil" Gollihue, 70, of Anderson, passed away on January 31, 2026, at his home. He was born on March 25, 1955, in Accoville, West Virginia, to his parents, Thelma Hall and James R. Gollihue.
Phil graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1974.
He spent his entire career as a mechanic, a trade he took great pride in and one that perfectly reflected his ability to fix, build, and figure things out.
Phil is survived by his spouse, Sheila (Simmons) Gollihue; two children, Heather (Michael) Harmon and Josh (Jacquelyn Lowe) Gollihue; grandchildren, Ashton Harmon, Nevaeh Burgess, Dravyn Harmon, Luka and Baby to be Gollihue and siblings, Barbara Justus, Tammy (David) Harris, Kathy (Ricky) Osborne and Coy (Stacie) Hall. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-laws, Jimmy C. Simmons and Jim Phillips; sister and brother-in-law, Dee and Keith Runyon; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Pat Gollihue and brother-in-law, Jay Simmons.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana, 46013.
A memorial service will follow visitation at 2:30 pm at the funeral home. Guests are invited to join us for light refreshments immediately after the service in the Community Room at Loose Funeral Home.
Cremation will take place and his cremated remains will be laid to rest at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League in Anderson, Indiana.
