James Edgar (Ed) Land, 90, of Anderson, went to see his Lord and Savior on February 25, 2025 at the Bethany Pointe Health Campus following a brief illness.
He was born on December 20, 1934 to Charles and Lucille (Butler) Land at Fairfield, IL. He graduated Markleville High School in 1953. Ed worked as a Plastic Mold Maker for General Motors for 43 years prior to his retirement in 1996. He married the love his life Joyce( Davis) Land on October 28, 1961 at Anderson, IN. Ed and Joyce lived in Markleville, IN. Mr. Land proudly served in the United States Army having served with Battery A 3rd Division Gun Battalion 81st Artillery Unit.
Ed was a member of the Markleville North Christian Church and later the Church of the Brethren in Anderson and the United Auto Workers Union #663. Playing his guitar and mandolin was a favorite pastime to him. Ed was also an avid gardener of vegetables that he shared happily with friends and sometimes unhappily with the local raccoon population.
Ed is survived by his two daughters, Rita K. Byanski and Anita G. Land, grandchildren, Erin Byanski, Kaitlyn Byanski Ruscio (Nikko), Davis Land, great-granddaughter, Sophia Ruscio.
Besides his wife of 57 years, he was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Hattie Belle Spall, Mae Ebbert, and, Sarah Foster.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, 11:00 am at the Loose Funeral Home with , Pastor Spencer Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow at the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army.
Friends may call at Loose Funeral Home on February 28, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Saturday March 1, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
