James Edward Wilhoite

James Edward Wilhoite, 93, of Anderson, passed away on October 24, 2024, at the Bethany Pointe Health Campus. He was born on July 30, 1931, in Elwood, Indiana.

He retired from Delco-Remy Division of General Motors after 30 years of service. He was an avid gardener, and adventurer and loved his family and the outdoors.

James is survived by his loving spouse of 23 years, Carolyn Wilhoite; daughters Alicia (Brian) Bays and Leah Sue Wilhoite; bonus children Nancy (Bryan) Wile and Guy McConnell; granddaughters Sarah (Josh Senseney) Bays and Emi (Joachim Walker) Bays; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Allen H Wilhoite, mother, Mae Wilhoite; siblings, Calvin Wilhoite, Roy Wilhoite, Raymond Wilhoite, Flo Perry, Lucille Dennison, Hugh L. Wilhoite, Ted Wilhoite, Jay Wilhoite, Leslie Wilhoite, Jennie Smith, and Darlene Crowder; bonus sons, Daniel C. J. McConnell, and Thomas McConnell.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN.

Services will be Tuesday, October 29, 2024, 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kristine Marshal officiating.

Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park, Anderson.
