Janie Lee Boyd

Janie Lee Boyd, 87, passed away unexpectedly May 18, 2025.
Momma Janie was born April 27, 1938 to the late Nathaniel Pete Burnett and Ollie Mae Patterson. She worked at the Community Center, Woolworths, and retired from the Anderson Banking Company. Momma Janie was a pioneer in the community both musically and creatively. Alongside her late husband, Pastor Roosevelt Boyd, she co-founded Greater Progressive Temple of Faith Church in September of 1984 and served as First Lady and Shepherd Mother until her passing. Momma Janie leaves to cherish her memories her children Rosemary Ball, Roosevelt (Regina) Boyd, Timothy Boyd Sr., Evan. Rennie (Samuel) Jackson, Kayra (Karlton) Turner; sisters Geraldine (James) Jackson, Jennifer Burnett; Uncle Leslie Patterson; 36 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, Progressive Temple of Faith Church Family and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am Saturday at Anderson Zion Baptist Church, 2008 Rev. JT Menifee St., with burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm to 9pm Friday and 9am to 11am Saturday all held at the Church.
