Jerry R. Schwan

Jerry R. Schwan Born: September 10, 1937 Died: March 5, 2023 Jerry Robert Schwan, 85, of Crystal Lake Illinois passed away on March 5th, 2023. Jerry was born on September 10th, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Paul and Marie Schwan. Jerry attended Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana where he received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jerry also obtained an MBA from Lake Forest College ion Lake Forest, IL. Jerry married his wife Marcia Neff on May 6th, 1962 in Anderson, IN. They moved their family to Crystal Lake in 1976. Jerry worked at Honeywell, Inc for 35 years until retiring. Jerry like sports, especially the White Sox. He liked traveling and visiting extended family with his wife. He was an active volunteer for many organizations including the Skokie Swift Train Line Committee, Crystal Lake Historical Society, Dole Mansion Preservation Society, Senior Ride Program, First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, Crystal Lake Little League Baseball and YMCA Indian Guides. Jerry is survived by his wife, sons (Wade Schwan & Neil Schwan), seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his Mother Marie, Father Paul and Brother Richard. There will be a gathering from 11am to Noon on Saturday, March 18 at First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, 461 Pierson St, Crystal Lake. The memorial service will be at Noon.
