Joanne Parker Reed, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026.

Born on November 16, 1935, Joanne was the daughter of the late Emery “Hoke” Parker and Mamie Wulle. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Reed, and her cherished son, Scott James Reed.

Joanne graduated from Anderson High School in 1954 and went on to attend Ball State University for two years. She dedicated 36 years of her career to Delco Remy, where she worked as a group leader in data preparation. In 1955, Joanne met the love of her life, Kenny, on a blind date. The two were married on February 15, 1958, and built a life centered on love and family. Together, they were blessed with their son, Scott James.

Joanne found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved house boating on Lake Cumberland, spending time on the water, and vacationing with friends. She was also devoted to her church and her community, contributing her time and spirit in meaningful ways. Joanne will be remembered for her warmth, her dedication to her family, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Joanne is survived by her loving family, including her only grandchild, Sydney Lohr and her husband Brooks, and her two great-grandchildren, Emma and Bowen. She is survived by her two siblings, Carole (Richard) Lochte and Bill (Bonnie) Parker, her daughter-in-law, Kerri Reed, as well as her very close friends who became family, Lisa Ketner and David Buffington. In addition, Joanne is survived by her brothers-in-law, Ronnie Reed, Tom Reed, Phil Reed, and Larry Balser. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, including James Lochte, Dan Lochte, Kelly Beeler, and Mike Parker, along with several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Vera Mae Reed, brothers-in-law Ralph Reed and Morris Reed, and sisters-in-law Sylvia Reed and Shirley Valentine.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anderson. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial will immediately follow the Mass at Anderson Memorial Park. Flowers can be received at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Annex, 302 E 11th St, Anderson, IN 46016.
