John B. "Jack" Ireland

Jack B. Ireland, 94, a lifelong resident of Anderson, Indiana passed away on November 13 th, 2023, at
Northview Health and Living surrounded by his family, following an extended illness. He had been a
resident of Keystone Woods Assisted Living for five years. Jack was an easygoing and soft-spoken guy
with a merriment, dry sense of humor. He started playing drums in elementary school and being a jazz
drummer was his lifelong love; not too many people can say they were able to do what they loved doing
their entire life and Jack sure did! He was a well-respected musician and person. Jack had the privilege
of performing with many accomplished musicians including John Von Ohlen, Larry Mechem, Steve Allee,
Claude Sifferlen, Steve Corn, Larry McWilliams, and many others. While a resident at Keystone Woods,
he performed four concerts for the residents, his family, and friends. Jack’s love for music created a
family legacy as both his sons, Rick and Jack, grandson Michael and father, Russell Taylor, and nephew
Scott Ireland all inherited that passion for music and playing drums.
Jack is survived by his son Rick, daughter Joni Jackson (Joe), grandchildren Michael Taylor, Annie Paschal
(Scott) and Ashley Paschal (Dan), and great-grandchildren Brielle, Brittan, and Kallen. In addition, he is
survived by many beloved extended family members and a special friend Margaret Dodd. He was
preceded in death by his cherished wife Margaret, son, Jack Jr., parents John and Mildred Ireland, sister
Judy Hughes and brother Joe Ireland.
Special thanks to Keystone Woods’ wonderful staff and residents whom he considered family, and thanks
to Community Hospital, Community Hospice, and Northview Health and Living for their special care.
Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 11 am - 1 pm at Loose Funeral Home 200 W. 53 St. Anderson, IN, with a memorial service to follow the visitation at 1 pm.
