John D. Shay

John D. Shay, 79, of Middletown, passed away on October 2, 2026, at the Waters of Chesterfield. He was born on July 24, 1947, in Muncie, Indiana.

John proudly served his country in the National Guard.

He retired as a toolmaker from General Motors.

He was a member of the UAW, American Legion, and American Street Rod Association.

John is survived by his siblings, Michael Shay and Rebecca Shay; stepdaughter, Amanda Clouse; many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Pamella K. Shay in 2021 and Linda Lee Shay in 1994; parents, John F. and Georgianna Shay; sisters, Rose Marie Shay and Linda Nora Brown;

Visitation was held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Loose Funeral Home, followed by the memorial service with his nephew, Patrick Shay, officiating. Burial of John's cremains, next to Linda, will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson, Indiana.
