Joyce Ann (Watson) Learned, 84, lifelong Anderson resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1st.
Joyce was a 1959 graduate of Anderson High School. She devoted her life to caring for others and was a natural caretaker in every sense. She poured her heart into raising her daughters as a stay-at-home mother. She was also a wonderful sister and a devoted daughter, especially in the years she spent lovingly caring for her own mother in her later life. After raising her family, she spent several years working for the United States Postal Service.
One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother. She treasured her grandchildren, Amber and Joseph, and played a meaningful role in their childhoods. She offered them steady love, support, and a comforting presence they will carry with them always.
Though she was quiet, she was strong and held a deep personal faith and a sincere love for God. She worked hard throughout her life and lived with kindness, humility, and strength. She was the steady, gentle force that held the family together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Baptist Watson and Laura Belle (Fields) Watson, along with two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Melanie (Lige) Hensley and Michelle (Michael ) Del Busto, and by her grandchildren, Amber (Robby) Martin and Joseph Del Busto.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6 at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, IN, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park, immediately following the service.
