On September 24, 1944, I was born to Ralph Lawrence "Shorty" and Agnes Ada (Kirby) Knotts, the youngest of four children. When I was 16, I married Nurmi L. Jones. We had four children, Debbie, Tracy, Johnny, and Lisa. When I was 29, we divorced. On October 31, 1974, I met Charles Robert Schwab, and we married on May 29, 1975. We were married for 45 wonderful years before his death on September 28, 2020. In 1992, Robert adopted my four children. They had grown to truly love and respect him for the great father he was. I was room mother for each of my children while they were in grade school, going on many field trips and baking hundreds of cupcakes and being there at every holiday, loving and enjoying every moment of it. I also joined the PTA.
As my children grew and married, I babysat my grandchildren while they furthered their education and worked, taking them to sport practices and picking them up.
In the early 1960's to the 1970's, I worked at Frisch's Big Boy, Matthews SuperMarket, Montgomery Ward, and did a lot of babysitting to help support my kids, whom I loved deeply.
I am survived by my children, Debra (Steve) Shanks, Jonathan (Tracy Knight) Jones, and Kimberly Lisa (Dale) Perry; brother, Ralph Knotts; grandchildren, Amy, Andrew and Justin Councellor, Chas Jones, Jocelyn Foutz, Gabby Hogue, Kaylee Perry and Shelby Perry, Alana Knight; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Kaitlynn, Hailee, Tatum, Alexis, Sawyer, Scarlett, Avery, Adalynn, Aisley, and Ja'Riella Knight; 3 great-great-grandchildren; Alana, Serenity and Madalyn; and several nieces and nephews.
I was preceded in death by my husband, parents, daughter - Tracy Schwab; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Terry Silvey; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Betty Knotts; grandson, Nathan Clow; and in-laws, Betty and Harold Schwab; brother-in-law, Ralph Schwab.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, IN, followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in her husband's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
