Judith A. Loose, 93, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at the Primrose Silver Lace Memory Center on Friday, August 14, 2026. She was born on February 20, 1933, in Anderson, to Marion Collins, Sr. and Opal (Acker) Collins.
Judith married Edward L. Loose and shared 62 years together prior to Edward's death in 2014. They had three sons, James, Timothy, and David.
Judith graduated from Ball State University and earned a bachelor's and master's degree in elementary education. She taught at Westvale and Edgewood schools until her retirement in 1998.
She was an avid bridge and euchre player. She was a master gardener in her own yard as well as volunteering at Pendleton Elementary School Greenhouse. She was a past board member of the Local AARP. Judith and Ed enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and many foreign countries.
Judith is survived by her son, David (ReAnn) Loose of Peoria, AZ. She has four grandchildren, Jacob (Saki) Loose of Japan, Rachael (Chad) Biggar of Minnesota, Amanda (Jon) Stevenson of Indianapolis, and Jessica (Anthony) Williams of Indianapolis. She has 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and Loose family in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Loose; sons, James Loose of Indianapolis and Tim Loose of Minnesota; brothers, James Collins of Oregon and Marion Collins, Jr. of Anderson; sisters, Marcia (Bob) Sweitzer of Fairmount and Nancy (Dale) Devine of Ohio.
The family would like to thank the following people and facilities that helped Judith live a long and enriched life: Primrose Retirement Community, Primrose Silver Lace Memory Center, Paradigm Health, and Loose Funeral Homes (Rob and Mark).
A private Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at The Community Room at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating.
Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
