Larry Canaday passed away on August 29, 2026. He was born on February 20, 1937, graduated from Frankton High School, and then went on to earn bachelor's and master's degrees from Purdue University. He was raised in Frankton and lived most of his life in Elwood. Larry married Linda Sue Johnson on December 16, 1967, sharing nearly 60 years.

In addition to his love for farming and raising livestock, Larry spent 40 years teaching biology and chemistry, primarily at Frankton High School. His supportive nature, both in the classroom and on the farm, touched numerous lives.

Larry was a dedicated supporter of the Madison County 4-H Association, as well as a member of Grace United Methodist Church (now Grace Community Church) and the Freemasons.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Canaday, ad his sons Nathan and Brett (Tia Agnew) Canaday. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Millicent (Allen) and Waldo Canaday.

The viewing for Larry will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 4:00 pm at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 7:00 pm. Burial and memorialization will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Madison County 4-H Association. Contributions can be made by mail to: Madison County 4-H Association, 3424 Mounds Road, Anderson, IN 46017, with "In Memory of Larry Canaday" in the memo line.
