Larry Edward Carpenter, 81, of Alexandria died November 15, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson after a brief illness.

Larry was born May 20, 1940, in Anderson, the son of Edward and Eva (Skiles) Carpenter. He worked at Nicholson File for 14 years then was a firefighter for Anderson Fire Department 25 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Anderson Firefighters Local # 1262 and Indiana Firefighters' Association.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy (Ancil) Carpenter of Alexandria, whom he married June 25, 1960 in Anderson; three children, Lynn Carpenter Brown of Anderson; Angie (Buddy) Bailey of Greenville, South Carolina and Travis (Lori) Carpenter of Pendleton; brother, Jerry (Ginger) Carpenter of Anderson; six grandchildren, Johnny, Casey, Laci, Cody, Brandon and Caitlyn; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Steve Carpenter and a sister, Nancy. ********************************* Services for Larry have been postponed at this time due to COVID.
