Lawana J. Copeland

Lawana J. Copeland, 86, passed away on Sept. 11, 2025.

Lawana was born on March 6, 1939, to Juanita and James L Flye. Lawana was a graduate of Anderson High School and resided all her life in Anderson. Lawana was a member of Second Baptist Church for over 70 years, serving on the Junior Choir, Young Women’s Missionary,Senior Usher Board, and Kitchen Committee.Lawana is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Copeland,children William (Jan) Brown Jr, Vincent (Carles) Brown, James M(Melanie) Copeland, John (Marcella) Copeland, Faye (Isaiah) Lurry, brother James L (Twila) Flye Jr., and a host of family and friends.Visitation will be at 5:00 -7:00 pm Friday, Sept.19 at GlazebrooksFuneral Services, 2822 Nichol Ave. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Sept 20, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 230 W. 14th St. with visitation 1 hour prior to service.Burial at Anderson Memorial Park.
