Loretta Helen Watson, 89, of Anderson, passed away on February 18, 2026, at Greenwood Village South, in Greenwood, Indiana. She was born on October 29, 1936, in Frankfort, Indiana, to her parents, Grace and Cecil Dearth.
Loretta graduated from Frankfort High School in 1955.
She devoted herself to caring for her home and family, embracing the cherished role of homemaker.
She was a devoted member of Whetstone Christian Church in Anderson, Indiana. Loretta actively participated in the Women’s Circle. Loretta also generously volunteered at St. John’s Hospital in Anderson for more than 20 years, faithfully serving her community. She was previously a member of the Modern Misses Home Economics Club.
Loretta is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Jim) Chaney and Vickie (Brian) Norris; three grandchildren, Hannah (Seth) Gabbard, Nathan (fiancée, Abby Stuart) Norris and Adam Norris; two great-grandchildren, William and Wyatt Gabbard; two sisters, Mary Karen (Garry) McCutchan, Bonnie Dirbas; brother-in-law, Jack Davis; sister-in-law, Wilma (Dave) Dunham and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married August 25, 1957, W. Wayne Watson; her parents; three sisters, Phyllis Henderson, Martha Moudy and Patsy Davis and three brothers-in-law, Carroll Henderson, Bill Moudy and Tim Dirbas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, Indiana.
Services will follow visitation on Monday, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Rob Lowery officiating.
Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Whetstone Christian Church, 5940 Madison Avenue, Anderson, Indiana, 46013.
