Listen to Obituary
Margaret C. Sorg-Rodecap, 97, went to be with our Lord and entered eternal rest on November 14, 2022, at Five Star Residences of Noblesville.

She was born on January 14, 1925, in Pocahontas Arkansas, the daughter of John and Adelaide (Nuce) Baltz. Margaret was a homemaker. Additionally, she and husband, Frank, began selling a variety of home-grown vegetables in the late 1950’s. They were best known in Madison and surrounding counties for fresh sweet corn. The vegetable market provided employment for their children and grandchildren.

Margaret was an avid flower gardener, an expert seamstress, a talented painter, and an exquisite cake decorator. Although she would be the first to point out any imperfection in any of the above, everyone else was too busy being in awe of her talents to notice.

She was a Charter Member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson. In giving glory to God, she made beautiful banners and sewed baptismal gowns in service to the church.

Margaret is survived by her children: Don (Janna) Sorg, Rick (Pat) Sorg, Gloria (Kevin) Scharnowske, and Chris (Ann) Sorg.

Her grandchildren: Lisa, Matthew, Jessica, Scott, Michael, Joseph, Andrew, Hanna, Bethany, Megan, Josh, Laurel, Ashley, Ryan, Kate, and Jacqui. Also, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 54 years, Frank, her husband Ralph Rodecap, daughter Diane Kerrick and grandson Shawn Kerrick.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 11:30 to 1:30 pm at Loose Funeral Home and Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln Street, Anderson, IN 46016 with Father Matthew Jakupco officiating.

Burial will immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate and loving support provided by Dr. William Verhagen and staff, the staff of 5 Star Bridge to Rediscovery and ProMedica Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
