Maribel (Breese) Hodges was born on November 9, 1923, to parents Jesse and Blanch (Priest) Breese. She was the oldest of eight children and the sole survivor, having recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Maribel was a homemaker for many years before working at Goehring's World of Fashion, primarily as "The Estee Lauder Lady". She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband H. John Hodges; and her siblings: Curtis Breese, Eloise Breese Geiger, Orville Breese, Jane Breese Miller, Norma Breese Couch, Karen Breese Fox, and infant sister Jacklyn Breese.
Maribel is survived by her children Carol (Mark) Goodwin of Jefferson, GA, Timothy (Christina) Hodges of Newburgh, IN, and Julie (Mark) Merritt of Westfield. Also surviving are her granddaughters Aimee (David) Boettcher and Amanda (Drew) Bainbridge of Cincinnati, Kathryn (Daniel) Thrasher of Noblesville, and Kelly Basch of Anderson, along with her eight great-grandchildren: Owen and Luke Boettcher, Cole, Anna, and Clara Bainbridge, Henry and Lucy Basch, and Alexander Thrasher
