Michael E. McNeal age 81, passed away at his home in Chapel Hill, TN on June 3, 2024, with
his loving wife Velma L. McNeal (Harker) of 61 years by his side.

The former graduate of Anderson High School served in the United States Army for 4 years, and retired as a Pipefitter from General Motors.

Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending
time with his family. Throughout the years, he enjoyed macramé, creating custom chairs, and
making outdoor Christmas ornaments. His favorite pastimes included watching westerns and
crime shows, but also fishing with his family and spending time with them outdoors.

Michael will always be remembered for his deep love for his family and how he cared for them
throughout the years. He always wanted to make sure his family was well taken care of and did
what he could whenever there was need and set a great example to live by.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Doris McNeal, brothers Don McNeal (Dorothy), Fred McNeal (Carol), sister Judy Derexson (Paul), and brother-in-law Bonney Shirley. He is survived by his loving wife, Velma L McNeal, twin sister, Marilyn Shirley, sons David E. McNeal (Lora), Timothy M. McNeal (Stacy), Grandchildren, Britney Couture (Mike), Jeremy McNeal (Kennedy), Ryan McNeal (Aleasha), Sarah McNeal, great grandchildren, Braxton Couture, Blakely Couture, BrayLee McNeal, Macie McNeal, Emry McNeal, Roxas McNeal, Asher McNeal and Poppy McNeal as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Loose Funeral Home,
200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013, with service to follow at 1:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
