Morris L. “Bud” Claypool Jr., 66, formerly of Anderson passed away at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, FL following a six month illness.

He was born on October 27, 1958 in Anderson to the late Morris L. Sr.and Mary Faye (Brogden) Claypool. He graduated from Highland High School.

He was a mechanic for over 20 years at Weidner Chevrolet. He retired in 2017 after 10 years as a correctional officer at the Pendleton Correctional Facility.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. He enjoyed boating, drinking beer and grilling. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Paula (Holmes) Claypool of New Port Richey, FL whom he married on June 13, 2013; his son, Morris L. “Moe” (Taryn) Claypool of Anderson; two stepsons, William L. Allen and James A. (Tamarya) Moore all of Indianapolis; a sister, Pam (Bryan) Harris of Alexandria; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Heather Claypool and his sister, Edith Robinson.

A memorial service will be at 1:00pm on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Brad Storm officiating. A private family burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm on Monday, June 30, 2025 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
