Nola Jean Moore

Nola Jean Moore, 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Carmel, Ind. Born on September 4, 1929, in Anderson, Nola lived a life filled with love for her family and friends, and dedication to her Christian faith.

A graduate of Anderson High School, Nola was an active member of the school choir. She was also a devoted member of East Lynn Christian Church in Anderson, where her faith was nurtured and served as a guiding light throughout her life. Her generosity and concern for other people was unmatched.

Nola was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene R. Moore, and her daughter, Debbie Ann Moore. She is survived by her sons, Neal G. Moore (Kathleen) of Whitestown, Ind., and Jeffrey Lee Moore of Anderson. She was a loving grandmother to Todd J. Moore of Ingalls, Ind., Alison J. Bruns (Alan) of Zionsville, Ind., Jonathon N. Moore (Kadi) of Westfield, Ind., and Alexander H. Moore of Nashville, Tenn., and a proud great-grandmother to Chloe J. Bruns and Chase M. Bruns.

After spending many years in Anderson where she worked as a supervisor in the Anderson Community Schools cafeteria services, Nola later relocated to Indianapolis before settling in Carmel, where she spent her final years. She was a gifted crocheter who created more than 120 infant blankets for donation to a hospital neonatal intensive care unit. Friends and family alike all will remember fondly her easy smile and welcoming spirit.

A public calling and funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 5, at Loose Funeral Homes in Anderson. Calling begins at noon followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m.

Nola will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson. Her family and friends will cherish her memory and the love she shared throughout her long and beautiful life.
