Noland Eugene "Gene" Hartzell

Noland Eugene "Gene" Hartzell, 84, of Anderson, passed away on December 7, 2023. He was born on September 23, 1939, in Anderson, the son of Jessie and Alta (Moore) Hartzell.

Gene graduated from Anderson High School in 1957. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Gene retired after over 30 years of service at General Motors, where he was in skilled trades.

He was active in local little league baseball. Gene also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Gene also volunteered in Boy Scout Troop #301.

Gene is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy (Cox) Hartzell; his children, Theresa Hartzell and Bradley Hartzell; his grandchildren, Sophie, Ella, Jamie, Bambi, and Christina; his great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Larry Hartzell (Raydean), Charles Hartzell (Connie), and Jessie Hartzell, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his son, Terrence Hartzell, his parents, Jessie and Alta Hartzell, and his brother, Dennis Hartzell.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 11:30 A.M. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Burial will be Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
