Norma Jean McCain, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Born in 1929, Jean lived a full and vibrant life, dedicated to caring for others both in her professional and personal life.
Jean graduated from Lapel High School in 1947. She began her career after graduating from St. John’s Nursing School as a nurse for Dr. P.T. (Pete) Lamey, where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives. Later, she transitioned into the role of a school nurse at Pendleton Heights High School, continuing her commitment to the well-being of those around her. Her caring nature and gentle spirit made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
Beyond her career, Jean was known for her sharp wit and playful sense of humor. She had a remarkable ability to bring joy and laughter into any room. Her love for puzzles was well known, and she often spent her free time challenging her mind with complex jigsaw puzzles, finding peace and pleasure in each completed piece. Her green thumb transformed her garden into a haven of flowers, a living testament to her love and care.
Above all, Jean was a loving individual who cherished her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, humor, and dedication to others will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Jean is now reunited with husband, Max McCain. She is the beloved mother to Mike McCain (Sonya). She is the proud grandmother to Megan White (Mike) and Chris Nodine (Kari). And loved all of her great-grandchildren with her whole heart - Joshua Nodine, Morgan White, and Marcus White.
