Owen M. Hurst

Owen M. Hurst, 87, of Fishers, died at Hamilton Trace of Fishers on January 19, 2022, after an extended illness. He was born December 11, 1934, in Terre Haute, the son of Martha Belle (Hurst) Smith. He was a tool & die maker for Steel Parts Corp in Tipton for 30 years. He received a journyman card from Ivy Tech in Kokomo. He served in the United States Navy. Owen loved golf, bowling, doing word search puzzles and coloring. He is survived by his wife, Dianna (Asbury) Hurst of Fishers whom he married April 24, 1964 in Anderson; son, Jon Hurst of Fishers; brother, Robert "Bob" (Sharon) Cochran of Greensburg, IN and half sister, Marie Bean of Springfield, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; sister, Marcella Griffith and step-sister, Kathy Wheeler. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Military graveside rites. Family requests that you please wear facial masks and social distance. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
