Patricia “Pat” Ann Hollingsworth, 68, of Speedway, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on January 2, 1957, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Donald “Don” and Martha “Martie” Boone, Pat lived a life rooted in love, family, and meaningful friendships.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend. She married the love of her life, Mike Hollingsworth, on November 24, 1978. Together, they built a warm and joyful life in Speedway, Indiana, where they have lived ever since.
Pat and Mike raised two daughters, Amy and Dana, who brought her endless pride and joy. Amy Benetti, living in Cincinnati, Ohio, is married to Jonathan, and they have a daughter, Lia (12). Dana Koller, living in Carmel, Indiana, is married to Paul, and they have two daughters, Sophie (11) and Harper (7). Pat adored her granddaughters and treasured every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved younger sister, Linda Harms, and her in-laws, Loyd and Frances Hollingsworth, as well as her brother-in-law, Mark Hollingsworth. She is survived by her husband Mike, her daughters and their families.
Pat found deep joy in the simple pleasures of life—baking and cooking for her family, sewing, crafting, and woodworking. She loved watching birds, reading a good book, and spending time outdoors, especially on long walks or visits to the lake. Family vacations held a special place in her heart, especially annual trips to Lake Cumberland, weekends at Lake Monroe, as well as treasured journeys to Disney World. In recent years, Pat and Mike spent much of their spring and summer at their beloved cottage on Steinbarger Lake in Wawaka, Indiana—a cherished property passed down from her parents where countless memories were made with friends and family.
At the lake, Pat was often seen laughing and sharing stories with her dear friends. In Speedway, she maintained lifelong bonds with her close friends with whom she shared coffee, lunches, and heartfelt conversations.
Pat’s love of family, her generous spirit, and her warm, nurturing heart touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for the deep connections she fostered, her creativity, and the joy she brought into every room.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Friday, May 2 from 3 pm to 5pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with memorial services there at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association
