Pauline Louise Bartle, 100, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at her home on September 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 14, 1925, in Greenfield, Indiana, to Albert and Ocie (Fansler) Adams.
On August 27, 1950, Pauline married the love of her life, James I. Bartle Jr., and they shared 38 years together until his passing in 1988. Their marriage was filled with love, faith, and devotion, and Pauline carried his memory with her always.
Pauline lived a long and beautiful life marked by devotion to her family and kindness toward all who knew her. She was known for her feisty spirit, quick wit, and the strength with which she faced life’s challenges. She had a creative soul and a love for simple joys. She enjoyed reading books, quilting, and crafting, and could often be found working on her word searches. Her family will always remember her warmth, humor, and the quiet resilience that carried her through a century of life.
Pauline is survived by daughter, Sandra Bartle; sister, Myrtle Gwinnup; special friends, Betsy Alford, Mary Everman, and Jason Griswold; several nieces and nephews.
was preceded in death by her husband, James I. Bartle Jr.; parents, Albert and Ocie Adams; brothers, Walter Adams, Albert Adams, Jr., and Joseph Adams; and sister, Dorothy Felt.
There will be a graveside service at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pauline's final expenses.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
