Peggy S. Melton

November 28, 1954 — November 20, 2025

ALEXANDRIA, IN – Peg (Townsend) Melton, 70, was received into the arms of the Lord, her God on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Comfort Care Center in Little Rock, Arkansas following an extended illness.

She was born on November 28, 1954, in Anderson to Charles and Patricia (Miller) Townsend. She was a former resident of Alexandria, Pendleton and moved to Benton, Arkansas in 2020. She received her GED diploma from Alexandria-Monroe High School. Peg retired in 2020 from the Andrson Herald-Bulletin as production director after 42 years of employment. She was a member of the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene. Peg was a lover of anything outdoors where she especially enjoyed flower gardening. She liked to crochet and cook for her family and friends. However, her family was the priority of Peg’s life. Peg was a giver and would help anyone at any time. Her warm smile will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. As her family, we are comforted to know that Peg is at peace and we will see her again.
