Phyllis J Lollar, 88, of Anderson, passed away after a courageous fight with cancer on June 17, 2022. She was born on October 21, 1933 to the late Gerald Keith Dodd Sr. and Mary Ruth (Staton) Dodd in Anderson, Indiana.

Phyllis graduated from Anderson High School in 1952. She attended Anderson Business College, Indiana Business College and Anderson College. She worked as a secretary for Schrenker, Thornburg & Thornburg before starting her bookkeeping and insurance field. She worked for Dick Horner Insurance for 19.5 years, Anderson Bank Insurance and managed Lon Brown Insurance (Anderson Branch) for 32 years.

She was a member Chesterfield Christian Church for over 30 years and has recently been worshiping at Bethany Christian Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 24 years, John Lollar, sons: Bart Huffman and Bradley S. Huffman; step-daughters: Tina Rector, Vickie Pitts (Tim) and Linda Hutchens (Kevin); grandchildren: Mikka (Patrick) Baker, Allen Huffman, Kiely (Travis) Bayla, Macey Huffman, Kenneth (Krystle) Huffman, James Huffman, Hunter Huffman and Dustin Huffman; step grandchildren: Wendy Rector, Clint Pitts, Wendy (Ryan) Knapp, Brandon (Katie) Hutchens, Stephanie (David) Webb; 19 great grandchildren and many other beloved family members.

Phyllis was an amazing woman and recognized for her many contributions. As a young woman she volunteered at Fort Derussy Military Club in Honolulu, Hawaii where she interacted with spies to assist the naval intelligence in some projects. She received the following awards: one of four women Insurance Agents nominated by the State of Indiana CSR; twice honored as Insurance Agent of Madison County; served on the board of Personal Lines Meridian Insurance, served on the Board of Diabetes at St. Johns Hospital; served collecting funds for the March of Dimes for St. Jude's Children’s Hospital. She was the first woman President of Anderson Noon Lions. She was a member for 27 years and received both of the highest awards to be given, the Melvin Jones Fellowship and the Dr. W.P. Woods Fellowship. She served as a bookkeeper and Deacon for Chesterfield Christian Church and served on many committees. She was a past member of Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority.

Service will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
