INDIANAPOLIS – Raymond Ned Brown, age 89, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Fortville on November 21, 1936, to Lloyd O. and Josie G. (Carter) Brown. He graduated from Fortville High School in 1954. Ned received his bachelors of science in engineering from General Motors Institute in 1958. He married Sandra Joan (Petty) on December 12, 1992, in Indianapolis.
Ned worked for Delco Remy as a plant supervisor for many years before retiring in 1992. He was an active member of Irvington Presbyterian Church and was a past Deacon and Elder. He liked fishing, doing handyman things, and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Brown; daughters, Cindy L. Hager, Christina H. (Jeff) Maidlow, Liz (Ray) Liwosz, and Becky Kessler; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and siblings, Tom Brown and Mary Jean Koepper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd O. and Josie G. Brown; daughter, Kathlyn K. Lewis; son, Thom N. Brown; and brother, Rex Brown.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Jonathan Reinink will be officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Anderson Memorial Park in Anderson.
